Paralimni (English Paralimni, Greek Παραλίμνι) is a resort in the southeast of Cyprus in the Famagusta area, near Ayia Napa and Protaras. The name translates as "Near the lake".

The town itself is located at 3 km from the coast, so it does not have its own beaches. But in a couple of kilometers there are excellent beaches and if you want you can stay at one of the hotels on the coast.

The city center certainly can not be called a noisy tourist place. Here a measured life flows. Nevertheless, there is a whole infrastructure with hotels, restaurants, shops. There are several ancient churches. You can climb to a high hill, from which you can see an excellent panorama.

Getting there

The nearest airport to Paralimni - Larnaca International Airport is in Larnaca, at 60 km. There are three ways to get from there.

Bus

Directly from the airport to Paralimni there is no public transport. Therefore, you will first have to drive to Larnaca, namely to the stop of Finikoudes Promenade (journey time about 15 minutes). The bus stop is located at 100 meters from the second floor of the airport. Then change to bus company Intercity Buses on the route Larnaca - Ayia Napa - Paralimni. Go for about an hour. Taxi and car rental
