For the second year in a row, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Cyprus has been selling narcissist bulbs for sale. The purpose of the action is to offer the inhabitants of the island flowers and plants that are ideal for its climate and are part of its ecosystem, and not imported to Cyprus from other countries.
The cost is 5,95 euro per kilogram of bulbs. Daffodils are grown on plantations of horticultural facilities in Atalasse (Nicosia).
Narcissus grows throughout Cyprus: from the Akamas peninsula to Cape Greco, and also in the foothills of Troodos at an altitude of up to 850 meters. The season of their flowering in Cyprus is from November to February.
According to new research, the smell of flowering daffodils contributes to a deeper and more peaceful sleep. In the composition of daffodils there are substances that prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
To purchase daffodil bulbs, you must apply at the website of the Department of Agriculture of the Republic of Cyprus until 27 July 2018. For more information, call 22-606428 (Christella Costa).
