As a result of two fires that broke out on Thursday at 9 pm in Trakhoni, more than 200 palms were burnt. According to the Cyprus News Agency, the fires were at a distance of about 500 meters from each other.
In addition to palm trees, slightly more than two hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation have been burnt. The cause of the emergency is not yet established. Perhaps someone set fire to the garbage. The fire was taken under control shortly before midnight. Firefighters stayed in Trachoni until the morning, in order to prevent re-ignition.
