New rules for using car seats for children in buses and taxis will come into force on 25 September. On this 26 August, the local newspaper "Filelefteros" told Deputy Head of the Department of Roads Haris Euripidou.
The official recalled that the law regulates the use of car seats only in buses, taxis and minibuses and does not apply to private cars. So, children are strictly forbidden to sit in front of the bus. If there are safety belts in it, children up to 150 cm should be fastened. Also, parents or guardians are obliged to use the car seat when transporting children up to 135 cm. However, children under the age of six are not admitted to the bus without escort. In case of violation of the law, the fine will be 85 euro.
