Germany again splits into the GDR and Germany

Germany seems a strong, monolithic country, only if you look at it from the outside. The cultural and economic division of the GDR and the Federal Republic of Germany has not gone away, and the political has slowly formed: for the time being, Merkel's "weess", "Aussie" is choosing AdG. And in recent years, the old confrontation between the West and the East has received a new impetus - and is becoming more acute every day.

Formally, Germany united in 1990, in fact the process has not been completed so far. The economy and the demography of the East still can not reach the indicators of the West, and the relations between the "Aussie" and "Wessie" leave much to be desired.

East Germans see in the western neighbors burghers - too full, greedy, callous and hypocritical. For the Western Germans, the "Aussie" is still the embodiment of the "scoop" - lazy, uninitiated, unreleased xenophobes.

"Ossi" rightly resent that the union was a disaster for the social sphere of the GDR. Some lost their homes (owners returning from the West sharply inflated the rent). Others - savings (GDR brands were exchanged for the German mark at the rate of 1: 1 only in the case of amounts up to 4 thousand, in the case of larger ones, at the rate of 2: 1). Up to half of the working people lost their jobs.

"Vessey" is countered by the fact that for 28 years the federal government has pumped into the eastern lands almost 2 trillion euros of irrevocable investments. The paradox is that even these giant infusions did not pull the East to the same level as the West.

There is also the problem of cultural opposition. After the unification, the entire history of the GDR was declared a nightmare. Hence - an unofficial division into "first-class" "wessies", whose lives were held under the patronage of the United States, and "second-rate" "Aussies" forced to live under the leadership of Moscow.

In September 2016-th inhabitants of the city of Bautzen, irritated by the noisy and aggressive behavior of the "refugees", came to their hostel and tried to reason with them. Migrants in response started a fight, and then started throwing sticks and bottles at the approaching police. In the violence they provoked, the police were forced to use tear gas.

In the winter of this year, the inhabitants of Cottbus protested massively - they were taken by the raging teenagers from migrant families. They attacked the elderly, snatched their bags and wallets, and in late January, two Syrian teenagers cut a knife face to their German peers. To declare to the police in such cases is useless - all minors have a double presumption of innocence. First, they are unfortunate oppressed refugees, and secondly, they are also children.

As a result, the inhabitants of Cottbus went to a demonstration, and its scope was impressed by local authorities. In February, they banned the further entry of migrants to Cottbus following the example of cities such as Salzgitter, Delmenhorst and Wilhelmshaven, encircled back in 2017.

Lack of labor? But the unemployment rate on the lands of the former GDR is twice as high as in the West, and this is only the average for the region. In such small towns as Chemnitz, the situation is much worse. This is the former industrial center of Karl-Marx-Stadt, in which, after the unification of Germany, all the plants were closed. The lack of vacancies forces the locals to leave for the West, and thousands of people from the Middle East appear in the city, who, instead of working, snooze and spend the night in the center, eating and drinking generous social benefits.

Unfavorable demography? Yes, the demographic situation in East Germany is not important. But the aging of the population is caused mainly by the fact that young people leave for work in the West. If it were possible to deploy this stream back, migrants would not be required.

In this scenario, everything went well in Chemnitz. Antifa fought against local people, whom journalists called "Nazis".

Foreign Minister Heiko Maas was not in Chemnitz, but this did not prevent him from blamelessly blaming the townspeople for "throwing ruts" during the march.

We will not forget that the entire establishment - from the leadership of the antifa to journalists, from politicians to human rights activists - is made up of Western Germans almost completely (a separate bright exception is Angela Merkel herself). And the "Wessy" frankly use the conflict in Chemnitz to again "curse" the "Aussee", blaming them for the common blame for World War II and recalling the socialist past.

In a sense, modern-day East Germans live in conditions of political and information blockade - different than in the GDR era, but this is no less unpleasant. They have virtually no opportunity to influence the power and the mainstream media of the united Germany. It is not surprising that they create their own parties and support those who are ready to really defend their practical interests.
