Vice Speaker of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya said that modern politics should not destroy spiritual and moral bases, but draw strength in moral and deep traditions.
Official representatives from 25 countries of the world participate in MAP: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Estonia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Jordan , Latvia, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and from time to time - from Lithuania and Finland. Individual groups and deputies from Australia, Uganda, Sudan, Mozambique, Congo, Ethiopia, Egypt, Chile, Argentina, USA and Canada participate individually in the assembly.
The opening of the MAP was timed to the exhibition of icons that participated in the international competition of art of iconography. Several dozen icons were dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ. The theme was chosen because the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the main and fundamental event of the Christian faith, life and theology, the organizers explained. Easter is a holiday of holidays, is a hope and a light for millions of believers of the planet and is celebrated, albeit at different dates, with the same passion and joy by all Christians.
The contest was aimed at finding and demonstrating modern ways of artistic expression and depiction of the Resurrection of the Lord, which will be based on and based on the established types of "Byzantine" iconography.
The winners were Kelaidi Olympiad (Greece), Verdes Bogdan Georg (Romania) and Demchuk Ivanka (Ukraine). Commendation to the public was awarded the icon of the Russian artist Yuri Zemtsov.
