Combat ships of the Russian Navy (Navy) from the permanent operational unit in the Mediterranean will conduct exercises with missile fire off the coast of Syria. Such data are given in the international notification for pilots (NOTAM).
In NOTAM it is noted that to conduct exercises of the Russian Navy with missile launches, an area in the eastern Mediterranean will be reserved: between the coast of Syria and the island of Cyprus on the traverse of the port of Tartus. The area will be closed for aviation flights 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 July with 10: 00 to 18: 00 MSK.
The permanent operational connection in the Mediterranean Sea can enter from 10 to 20 warships and support ships, depending on the tasks performed. Necessarily in the squadron there are carriers of precision weapons. In particular, 30 June the frigate of the 11356 project "Admiral Essen", armed with the "Caliber-NK" missile system, returned from the Mediterranean Sea to Sevastopol.
As reported by 18 June in the press service of the Black Sea Fleet, small missile ships of the project 21631 "Grad Sviyazhsk" and "Great Ustyug", also armed with "Calibers", left for Sevastopol to the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, the newly adopted into combat composition one-type small rocket ship "Vyshny Volochek" should leave the Mediterranean.
