This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Patriarchate.

"Holy Spyridon of Trimiphound is the greatest saint worshiped by Orthodox in all corners of the globe, but it is not so easy to get to the island of Corfu where its imperishable relics are located, and therefore we are grateful to the Kerkir Metropolia for the opportunity to bring the right hand of this remarkable saint to the limits of the Russian Orthodox Church. Earlier the right hand of St. Spyridon was already brought to the limits of our Church, but this time, with the blessing of the Most Holy Patriarch Cyril, the 12 diocese will visit the ark for the first time with a shrine. and people who know and love this great saint will be able to bow to his holy relics without much difficulty. The organization of the whole route of the sacred place in Russia is assumed by the foundation of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. The Russian Church is convinced that the bringing of the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimythunsky will spiritually strengthen our people, "the press secretary of the patriarch, priest Alexander Volkov, notes.

The first relics are preparing to take Krasnodar, where the shrine will be located in St. Catherine's Cathedral. Access to the right hand will be open around the clock from 24 to 29 August. "We expect pilgrims from all over the Southern Federal District," said spokesman for the church, Jan Toporkov.

It is planned that residents of 12 regions of Russia will be able to pray at the shrine. After the Kuban, the ark with the right hand of Spiridon Trimifuntsky will be delivered to Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Moscow Region, Tula, St. Petersburg, Tver, Saratov, Cheboksary, Yaroslavl and Moscow.

St. Spyridon of Trimiphound was born at the end of the 3rd century on the island of Cyprus. It is known that he was a shepherd, had a wife and children. All his funds the future saint gave for the needs of his neighbors and strangers, for which he was rewarded with the gift of miracles and the healing of the hopelessly sick. After the death of his wife, Spiridon was elected bishop of the city of Trimiphunt. According to the church tradition, St. Spyridon performed many miracles: according to his prayers, the drought ceased, the sick were healed, the oil in the church lamp multiplied. Seeing the secret sins of people, the saint called them to repentance and correction. He himself, even as a bishop, still grazed the sheep and worked in the field.

His last words were about the love of God and fellow man. Around 348 during the prayer, St. Spyridon died and was buried in the Church of the Holy Apostles in Trimifount. In the middle of the 7th century his relics were transferred to Constantinople, and in 1453 to Corfu. Here, in the city of Corfu, they are still kept in the temple in the name of Spiridon of Trimiphunt.
