In the water area of the Amur Bay, a parade and a military sports festival took place, in which warships, boats, submarines, military equipment of coastal troops and more than 1,5 thousand servicemen of the Pacific Fleet took part.
In particular, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet of the Order of Nakhimov was the Guards missile cruiser Varyag, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the destroyer Quick and other ships.
The ships demonstrated how they search for and destroy enemy submarines and underwater mines, the Pacific Fleet special forces showed the seizure of the submarine, and the naval landing - landing on the coast.
Russian President Vladimir Putin bypassed the parade line of warships that took part in the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg on Sunday and greeted their crews.
On the Kronstadt roadstead 12 ships are lined up, which because of their size can not enter the water area of the Neva, where the main part of the naval parade passes.
The President welcomed in particular the crews of the small missile ship Serpukhov, the corvette Boykiy, the large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk, the large amphibious ship Ivan Gren, the communication vessel Ivan Khurs, the diesel-electric submarine Vladikavkaz, and also the head frigate of the project 22350 "Admiral Gorshkov".
The president also greeted the crew of the nuclear-powered submarine missile "Eagle" of the 949A project "Antey", which came from the Northern Fleet and stands on the Kronstadt roadstead. The surface displacement of this nuclear-powered vessel is almost 15 thousand tons. Putin also congratulated the military seamen on the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov on the holiday. Displacement of this warship is more than 11 thousand tons, it is the second largest parade participant.
In the main naval parade, which will simultaneously take place in St. Petersburg and in Kronstadt, will take part 41 warship and more than four thousand troops of all fleets. In the sky, dozens of fighters, bombers, ground-attack aircraft and helicopters will fly through the sky, among which the unique Ka-31R reconnaissance helicopter will appear for the first time over the Northern capital.
The historical part of the parade will be opened by the artillery boats of the Caspian Flotilla with the combat banners of the glorified marines, heroically defending and liberating Leningrad, Sevastopol and Novorossiysk during the Great Patriotic War. Then the audience will see new items of combat naval equipment: the large landing ship (BDK) Ivan Gren, the reconnaissance ship Ivan Hurs, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov of the 22350 project. Also, before the guests of the holiday will be the newest small rocket ship "Hurricane" of the project 22800 "Karakurt".
