President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis, arrived yesterday in Qatar on an official visit, which will last for three days. During the trip the President accompanied by his wife Andree Anastasiadis. Today begins the official meeting of the President and his accompanying delegation.
The delegation that accompanies Nikos Anastasiadis included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Energy, Minister of Agriculture, Government representative, Ambassador in Doha, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President and other officials. On the sidelines of the visit of the President, the ministers will also hold separate meetings with officials of the State of Qatar.
This morning the President will meet with the CEO of Qatar Investment Authority.
President goes to the Palace of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where he will participate in the official ceremony. Later he will hold a private meeting with the Emir of Qatar, which will be followed by extended negotiations between the delegations of the two countries.
A number of agreements will be signed between the Republic of Cyprus and Qatar for bilateral cooperation in the field of education, energy, desalination and wastewater treatment, and the legal field.
After the signing, the President will participate in an official dinner to be given in his honor.
Later, the President will visit the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, where he signed the visitors' book.
Then the President will meet with representatives of the Islamic Bank of Qatar.
In the afternoon, Nikos Anastasiadis will meet with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Later, he will meet with a delegation from Qatar Business Association.
In the evening, the President and his delegation will participate in a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Doha, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cyprus.
