The Cyprus aviation sector is showing rapid growth

The air service in Cyprus is via two official Hermes airports located in Larnaca and Paphos. For 2017 year, passenger traffic grew by 14%, and there were flights to many new cities and countries.

Over the past two years, air traffic in Cyprus has increased by 30%. An important "mark" for Hermes was the appearance at the airport of Larnaka 10-millionth passenger. Forecasts for the future are very bright - it is expected that in 2018 the passenger traffic will grow by at least 5%. These indicators are very important for the economy of Cyprus, which directly depends on the tourism industry.

The geography of air routes from Cyprus has expanded. So, the island in 2017 year joined the new cities of Ireland, Spain, Italy, the Baltic States, Russia, writes InBusinessNews. This year, the addition of new routes continues. In the coming month, flights to Amman, Jordan (Ryanair), Ioannina and Thessaloniki, Greece (TUS Airways), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Cobalt Air) will be launched.

An important step was the addition of flights during the winter season. Over the past two years, the number of passenger seats for the period November - March has been increased by 800 thousand, which indicates the growing interest in Cyprus as a year-round holiday destination. Hermes Airports are working on the quality and speed of customer service and intend to accept even more guests in the upcoming season.
