Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the armed forces do not intend to stay in Syria after the operation "Shield of the Euphrates."
In his words, Turkey does not have the goal to stay in Syria. "They (terrorists) threaten us, we do not want any threats, we want to live in friendship with our friends and brothers the Syrians", - quotes RIA "Novosti" Erdogan.
Turkish President reiterated that the defense forces of the Syrian Kurds, which Ankara considers a terrorist organization, should leave the Syrian city manbij and withdraw to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
He also said that the Turkish armed forces can take part in the operation to free from the terrorist group "Islamic State *" Syrian cities manbij and Raqqa in the case of reaching an agreement with Russia and the international coalition led by the United States.
"Our talks with Russia, and on the other hand - with the US, coalition, is very important. (...) If the coalition is sincere in the desire to fight with IG *, and let us liberate Raqqa ", - Erdogan said in Ankara on the eve of his visit to Pakistan.
On the eve of Erdogan's adviser announced plans to Ankara to stop the operation in Syria only after taking manbij. On the same day the Turkish presidential advisor said that the Syrian settlement will be one of the main topics during the visit of Erdogan to Moscow in early March and his talks with Putin.
We also recall, last Friday the head of the Turkish General Staff said on the achievement of the purposes of the operation "The Shield Euphrates" in Syria.
