Polish Border Guard Service reported the entry into force of the new rules of the Schengen Borders Code, which involve a thorough check of every person who enters the Schengen territory or traveling abroad, including all EU citizens.
The statement noted that the tightening of controls will increase the length of border checks, reports RT.
As noted in the document, the European Parliament and the Council tightened the laws relating to crossing the external borders because of the continuing threat of terrorist attacks in Europe.
Recall, March 7, the EU Council decided to tighten regulations of passport control at the external borders of the Schengen visa-free zone, including land border crossings, ports, terminals, railway stations and airports.
