President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades will meet with UN Secretary António Guterres on Wednesday, March 22, during his stay in New York Investment Summit Capital Link Invest in Cyprus. This was told by the Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the United Nations Kornelios Corneliu.
It is expected that Anastasiadis will discuss with the UN Secretary General the current state of negotiations on the Cyprus problem. Recall talks stalled after the Cypriot MPs adopted a controversial bill on the celebration of the anniversary of the referendum in the schools of "enosis" - the union with Greece.
UN Special Envoy to Cyprus Espen Barth Eide tried to return the leaders of both Cypriot communities to the negotiating table. This week, Norwegian diplomat once again met with them.
