Internet banking is of little interest to the people of Cyprus

While all over the world the Internet makes life easier for people - all purchases and payments can be done in two clicks - in Cyprus they practically do not use Internet banking.

According to the data published by the European sociological service Eurostat, only about a quarter of Cypriots use Internet banking. This figure is almost the lowest in the European Union.

The highest level of use of Internet banking in Denmark, where this service is used by more than 90% of the population. In second place the Netherlands, with an indicator of 89%, and Finland tops the top three, where internet banking uses 87% of the population.

The least demand for this service is in Bulgaria: only 5% of the population uses the online banking service to make payments. It is followed by Romania (7%) and Greece (25%). But on the fourth place from the end - Cyprus, with the indicator 28%.

The Internet banking service is most popular among young people from the age of 25 to 34 years. What is remarkable, 77% of all who use Internet banking, have a higher education.
