Israeli publication Haaretz reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the country 2016 year rejected a US proposal to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to media reports, in February 2016 years Netanyahu took part in John Kerry arranged a secret meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Then head of the State Department Kerry presented a settlement plan which, in particular, implies recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the Palestinians, as well as provide for the continuation of negotiations with the Palestinians with the support of the Arab countries.
Netanyahu rejected the proposal, explaining that he did not receive government support.
The Israeli Cabinet recently held a meeting with the new US president, and Donald Trump called historical talks, saying that relations between the two countries enter a new phase.
