Cyprus increases safety at sea

Minister of the Interior Konstantinos Petridis unveiled a national security plan at sea.

The project, costing 3 million euros, determines the jurisdiction, duties, duration of work and coordination of rescuers on the island, as more than 15 million people visit Cyprus beaches annually.

The project includes 85 organized beaches, which will be built towers for rescuers, built according to international standards. It also provides training for rescuers, patrol schedules, the jurisdiction of search and rescue ships and a detailed equipment table.
