The US State Department has compiled a rating of countries' safety for traveling citizens. Cyprus was included in the list of the safest countries for tourism.
America recognized Cyprus as a safe country for travel. On a scale from 1 to 4, the island was assigned a unit - this means a hassle-free stay of a foreign tourist in the country. The main security criteria, according to which the State Department of America made a rating is:
Almost all European countries, along with Cyprus, received an "1" rating. The exception was states with an unstable political situation - Bosnia and Kosovo, they were assigned the figure "2".
But Turkey was considered by the Americans to be quite dangerous for travel - in their opinion, there are many terrorist acts and unjustified arbitrary arrests. For this reason, Turkey was given the figure "3", Sigma Live reports.
The most dangerous for travel America named the countries with deployed military actions - Syria, Iraq and the like, they were assigned the figure "4".
