Belarus will not make foreign policy choice between East and West, Russia and the EU, he said on Wednesday in Minsk, President Alexander Lukashenko.
"If the partners with whom we engage in dialogue, will put your question, you are with the East or the West, Russia or the EU ... we such a position does not fit," - said Lukashenko during a meeting with Foreign Minister of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.
The Belarusian leader expressed the opinion that Poland is interested in the fact that "Belarus has not only an independent state, but stable." "I think that one more unstable state after Ukraine in the West do not need ... We can together play an important role, being at the center of Europe, we can influence the processes that occur in our interests, but not at the expense of our neighbors - Germany, Russia, China ", - he said.
Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is ready for close cooperation with Poland. President of Belarus expressed hope that after the visit of Foreign Minister of Poland to Belarus relations between the countries will develop more intensively. "It's no good us looking at each other over the fence," - he stressed.
He also noted that "Belarus has no Belarusians, Poles, Jews, Russian, Ukrainian, and there are citizens of Belarus, who have equal rights."
