Moscow and Washington are complicated game to start a new relationship

Recently, US-Russian relations have escalated by leaps and bounds. However, the visit of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson went surprisingly smoothly - at least in terms of public rhetoric. All this suggests that the events of recent weeks were just preparing to launch a new stage of relations between the Kremlin and the current US administration.

Secretary of State's visit to Moscow Rex Tillerson put if not the point, it is very confident comma in numerous disputes and interpretations of Russian-US relations last week.

Extremely sharp aggravation, using including the military component, turned out fairly standard and sometimes even constructive rhetoric. And it is not very hard, with a mutual expression of hope for improvement in the future. Moscow's readiness for the resumption of the memorandum of indicative Syria, as, indeed, and complacent rhetoric of the US side on the basis of negotiations.

Это, в свою очередь, дает повод свежим взглядом посмотреть на события последнего времени в отношениях между странами.

12 April Tillerson day of the visit to Moscow was also the hundredth day visit Donald Trump at the White House.

The note especially the Russian-American relations in the hundred days? The answer is simple - lack of relations. Contacts were kept to a minimum, and their levels were dramatically reduced and transferred to the "technical" mode, as was openly stated at the joint press conference, Lavrov Tillerson.

The reasons for this can be called a few, starting simply with the fact that it was a setup, the initial period of trampovskoy administration. But the main reason, obviously, is different: Donald Trump and his administration has all along been under heavy pressure from black PR by their opponents. And the "Russian factor" and suspected "pro-Russian" the US president was one of the key pressure points.

Whatever it was, a potential first contact between the Kremlin and the new administration proved to be overloaded with suspicion, accusations and gloomy expectations on the part of external observers and the public. As a consequence, the situation was complicated for Moscow and Washington, too. With such biased external attention, neither party could not afford even a hint of weakness, defeat, or even more so a betrayal of national interests.

As events unfolded, it is known.

After an initial period of mutual distance "reverence," the White House began to play a sharp drop and cooling of bilateral relations.

The main public "instigator" of the new line was the US permanent representative to the UN Nikki Heyli, who made a series of sharp anti-Russian statements. Not left behind and the other members of the administration, for that matter, and Trump himself.

Only the words did not stop.

There was a chemical attack in Khan Shaykhun, responsibility for which Washington put on Damascus, which was the reason for the massive missile attack "Tomahawks" in Shayrat airbase. About the "strangeness" strike has been written many times. But in the end all parties recorded the incident itself into an asset: Trump has demonstrated to the world that when it States remains the main military force of the world, Russia honed wit on lost on the way missiles and "precision" hits, and the air base resumed its work after less than a day.

However, the incident became a pretext to limit inflate the confrontational rhetoric, which has on both sides. Before that Moscow was limited evasive comments, then there followed the straight and harsh reaction - the blocking of the draft resolutions in the UN and the sharp comments of officials. Apogee was Vladimir Putin's comment that the relationship with the new administration even worse than they were under the Obama administration.

Special attention should be mediasoprovozhdenie Tillerson's visit to Moscow. For a couple of days in the world's media just became hysterical at the "ultimatum" that he allegedly driven to the Kremlin. In reality, this was a simple PR move. In international politics, "guest" is always in a weaker position compared to the "master" in the apotheosis of this is expressed by the formula "came to pay homage." However, Secretary of State and the US administration as a whole at the moment can not afford even a hint of a "weak" position in relations with Russia.

As a result, organized by "draining" of a certain ultimatum, which in reality did not find the slightest evidence, but it is immediately strengthened Tillerson position in the eyes of the public. In this case, the data for Moscow rumors were also beneficial because after talks no "surrender", of course, did not happen. On the contrary, the results can be interpreted to mean that Russia not in the least compromising their position.

The result of all these complex - and bloody - geopolitical movements became the first contact between the Kremlin and the new US administration. His results, each party can write yourself into an asset, since both positions can easily be interpreted as strong. Being relegated to the lowest point of the relationship finally formed the basis for building a new stage in them. And Donald Trump is largely countered accusations of ties with the Kremlin.

The downside to Russia can be considered that it is in the West once again appeared in the "evil empire" and defender of tyranny, but this is nothing new, and fatal.

But the problem of Donald Trump, who had promised his voters not to involve the United States in military action abroad and deceived them after only three months in the Oval Office, to be addressed to him.
