In Cyprus, the Maritime Institute

Rector of the University of Cyprus Konstantinos Christofidis held a meeting with the Minister of Transport Marios Dimitriadis, during which the issue was raised about the establishment of the Institute of Science, Technology and Economics in the field of maritime affairs.

The new school is planned to open in Larnaka. At the first stage, an international advisory committee will be formed, of which a representative of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Cyprus will become a member.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the university will open a postgraduate course for engineers in the shipping industry who have not found work after graduation. Teaching will be conducted in English. Later in Larnaka, a full-fledged Maritime Institute will be created.
