In Cyprus, closed two illegal schools of English

Two schools where the lessons of the English language were illegally conducted were identified by the police in the city of Aradipu. In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education, any training in Cyprus must be conducted in accordance with the law.

According to the police, on Wednesday, 10 January, police in Aradipu and Larnaka received information from the Ministry of Education that there are private schools in Aradipu that violate the provisions of the Law on Private Schools and Teaching aids.

Based on this information, the police conducted an investigation. As a result: two illegally opened schools in which the English language was taught were discovered in Aradipu. During the police check-up, teachers were in the room, who taught a lesson to several students, Sigmalive reports.

According to the requirements of Cypriot legislation, in order to open a private school, regardless of its direction, it is necessary to fulfill a number of requirements. One of such requirements are: the official creation of a legal entity, the availability of a legal address, the availability of a bank account, the processing of a working pink slip (if a foreign citizen opens), the availability of a license from the Ministry of Education of Cyprus.
