Obama discussed the situation in Ukraine with the leaders of Kazakhstan and Cyprus

Situation in Ukraine was the center of attention at a meeting of U.S. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden with the leaders of Kazakhstan, Spain and Cyprus, according to the White House.

Obama in his conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev called on the Central Asian republic to play an active role in finding a peaceful solution to the problems of Ukraine, RIA "Novosti".

"The leaders reaffirmed their common interest in finding a peaceful resolution of the dispute between Russia and Ukraine. They agreed that it was important to maintain the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, "- said in a statement.

Obama also had a conversation about the events in the Ukraine with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden discussed regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine, with the head of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis.

"Both leaders reaffirmed strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and consulted regarding the steps that could lead to de-escalate the situation and its peaceful resolution," - said in a White House statement.
