The expectation of medical care in Cyprus stretches to 7 years

Auditor General of Cyprus Odysseus Michalidis has completed the examination of the Central Hospital in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, Reporter reports.

This is the largest hospital in Cyprus. In a year the number of hospitalized people exceeds 26 thousand people, and outpatients - more than 259 thousand.

The audit, among other things, revealed that the waiting time for operations and examinations in this Cypriot hospital is seven years.

In particular, the following deadlines for waiting for operations and surveys were recorded:

  • surgical operation - 56 months;
  • a small surgical intervention - 40 months;
  • Neurosurgery - 41 month;
  • Orthopedic examination - 88 months;
  • Acupuncture 61 month.
  • Maxillofacial operation - 76 months;
  • examination of the gastroenterologist - 10 months
