Pope Francis: Church does not need the officials and bureaucrats

Pope Francis called again led by the Roman Catholic Church to genuine intimacy with his flock.

Referring to the traditional Sunday sermon "Angelus" ( "heavenly angel") to the crowd of thousands of pilgrims who filled the Vatican St. Peter's Square, the Pope said that the Church needs "not officials and bureaucrats, and passionate missionaries, sincere carriers of God's word", reports TASS.

In the coming Monday Catholics celebrate the Day of the Assumption of Our Lady. For Italians, this festival marks the beginning of summer vacation "Ferragosto", the history of which dates back to the era of ancient Rome.
