On Wednesday night, the police of the Republic of Cyprus conducted a special operation, which detained two people in Limassol and one in Larnaca, reports The Cyprus Times. They illegally connected paid channels of television, taking for this with subscribers a lower monthly fee.
In the operation to identify illegal traders of telecontent, the authorities of four countries took part: the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus. The police had information that unknown persons from the Netherlands rented a server in Bulgaria, through which illegally relayed content of paid channels in Cyprus and Greece.
Having received data from foreign colleagues, Cypriot police carried out arrests of three people, and Bulgarian order-keepers detained their accomplice. Because of the pirate providers, the TV channels do not receive huge sums. The investigation is under way.
