Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at a joint press conference summed up the results of the talks in Moscow.

Among the main topics of discussion featured Syria, Ukraine, North Korea and bilateral relations. The question of sanctions in the negotiations was not raised.

US Secretary of State arrived in Moscow yesterday. Before his visit to Russia Tillerson made a strong statement on Syria, calling on Moscow to "choose" between a partnership with the US and support for Bashar al-Assad.

"The negotiations have turned out thoroughly and frank, covering the whole range of issues that are key to our bilateral relations for cooperation in international affairs," - Lavrov said at a press conference after a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

"We reaffirmed our shared focus on uncompromising struggle against international terrorism", - he said, noting that this issue several times on the phone discussing the Russian and US leaders.

At the same time, the minister said Moscow sees attempts to hinder cooperation between the two countries and exacerbate the confrontation.

"I think that in the US and in Russia there are enough sensible people who will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff, and which can still be guided by the indigenous, a momentary interests of our peoples, our countries and the entire international community", - Lavrov said.

According to him, "history has proven, when Moscow and Washington cooperate, benefit not only our people, but the whole world."

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow and Washington have appointed special representatives to identify without emotion "irritants in the relationship."

The incident in Idlib

Lavrov said he discussed the incident with Tillerson himatakoy in Idlib and saw the United States' readiness to support an international investigation into these events.

The minister also added that Russia considers counterproductive to making the UN Security Council resolution on Syria.

Tillerson, in turn, said that the impact of US forces on Idlib was justified, arguing it is "the fact that we (US - Ed.) There."

At the same time, he acknowledged that Washington has no information that would indicate the involvement of Russia in the incident in Idlib.

Lavrov said Moscow and Washington in favor of the full implementation of the Minsk agreement and the strict implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on the Korean Peninsula.

"Russia and the United States discussed how to find ways to get out of the spiral of confrontation on the Korean peninsula, and to create conditions for the resumption of negotiations", - Lavrov said.

The two sides also briefly touched upon the issues of cyber security, agreed to continue the dialogue on this subject.

Lavrov said that Moscow was still in 2015, the Obama administration proposed to "establish cooperation by the competent authorities" and to create a two-way information-sharing mechanism. However, the US side has refused.
