Since the beginning of the year, the Cyprus police have uncovered hundreds of crimes

During the checks on the roads of the Republic of Cyprus for the first half of 2017, more than 500 crimes were discovered.

From January to June, in particular, were found:

  • 20 stolen cars;
  • 41 person, put on the wanted list;
  • 17 illegal immigrants;
  • Narcotic substances (66 times);
  • Unregistered weapons (41);
  • Stolen property (16);
  • Thieves' tools (10).


In case of suspicion, road policemen have the right to check the driver and passengers in more detail, as well as to inspect the stopped car. According to the leadership of the Cypriot police, roadside checks help not only to detect criminals, but also to prevent offenses.
