Generous Cypriot retired foreigner rescued from prison

Last Thursday, a police patrol in one of the Limassol district saw a foreigner, who was looking for food in the garbage. The police approached the man and began to find out who he is and what he does.

During the audit it turned out that the 45-year-old foreigner, the father of a minor child, did not pay a fine of 740 euro. The man was arrested. To leave the police station, he had to pay a fine, otherwise the offender goes to prison. But it is logical that, one who seeks food in a garbage can, can not pay the required amount. Therefore, on Friday, 14 April, the man was transported to the Central prison of Nicosia.

But the inexplicable happened: 70-old pensioner came to the Central Prison in Nicosia and pay a fine 45-year-old foreigner. The woman identified from their savings 740 euros to the man was released. She also left him a 100 euros for personal needs, and prison officials gave him food and clothing.
