Generous Cypriot retired foreigner rescued from prison

Last Thursday, a police patrol in one of the Limassol district saw a foreigner, who was looking for food in the garbage. The police approached the man and began to find out who he is and what he does.

During the inspection it was found that 45-year-old foreigner, minor child's father, did not pay a fine of EUR 740. The man was arrested. To get out of the police station, he had to pay a fine, otherwise the offender goes to jail. But it is logical that the one who is looking for food in the garbage, can not pay the required amount. Therefore, on Friday, April 14, the man was transferred to the Central Prison in Nicosia.

But the inexplicable happened: 70-old pensioner came to the Central Prison in Nicosia and pay a fine 45-year-old foreigner. The woman identified from their savings 740 euros to the man was released. She also left him a 100 euros for personal needs, and prison officials gave him food and clothing.
