The Ministry of Education of Cyprus has decided to distribute masks on schools of the island, which will help pupils survive the dusty days. According to the official statement on the ministry's website, the first batches of masks were sent to schools 25 April.
Masks will be given to pupils if the concentration of microparticles of PM10 dust exceeds the value of 100 μg per cubic meter. m, which is twice the maximum allowable daily rate and corresponds to the third level of danger.
Such a measure in Cyprus is being undertaken for the first time, the ministry emphasized.
