In Egypt, for almost a year continues a series of trials for provoked a mixed reaction in the community agreement on the demarcation of the maritime border with Saudi Arabia. The courts of different instances recognize the agreement null and void, then argue about its legality.
At the beginning of April 2016, during the visit of the King of Saudi Arabia to Egypt, the two countries signed an agreement on the delimitation of the maritime boundary between the states, according to which Riyadh left the islands of Tiran and Sanafir belonging to the Egyptian national reserve Ras Mohammed near Sharm el- Sheikh and popular with divers. Authorities said then that the islands belong to the kingdom, and under the jurisdiction and protection of Cairo, they were at the request of Riyadh from 1950. This caused a storm of indignation in Egypt, followed by numerous lawsuits.
