Ankara and Tel Aviv are planning to accelerate work on an agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline to Europe, said Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Supply of Israel Yuval Steinitz, who is on a visit to Istanbul.
So far, it has been decided to conclude a preliminary intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a pipeline between the two countries.
The gas produced in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to plans, will be supplied via two pipelines. One will pass to Turkey and further to Europe. Another - through Southern Cyprus and Greece to Italy, cites the data of the Israeli minister Anadolu.
According to Steinitz, Israel has enough resources for both pipelines.
Italy has already named this project among the priority ones, the minister said.
