Turkey threatened Russia with the cancellation of the agreement on the purchase of C-400

If Turkey and Russia do not reach an agreement on the joint production of S-400 air defense missile systems, Ankara may refuse to purchase them, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in an interview with the newspaper Aksham.

"We did not receive any official refusal on this topic. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin himself told us that we can take steps for joint production. Therefore, the technology will be relevant. But if Russia is negative about this, we can conclude an agreement with another country, "Tass said.

At the same time, he called the need for the purchase of S-400 urgent, pointing out that Turkey has a need for such anti-aircraft missile systems to protect its airspace. At the same time, he noted that if the "countries opposed to Russia" do not want this deal, then "they must provide their own option."

At the same time, on the eve of the media, it was reported that Turkey was still interested in buying US Patriot systems from the US.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey had already paid an advance for S-400, the supplies of SAMs under the signed agreement will begin in the next two years.
