The Bank of Russia decided on the design of new banknotes in the 200 and 2000 rubles, which will go into circulation at the end of this year. On Wednesday, February 1, reported the press service of the Central Bank.
"On the banknote 200 rubles will be placed symbols of Sevastopol - the image of the monument to the scuttled ships and views of the Chersonese, and banknote 2000 rubles will be famous places of the Far East - the bridge to the island of Russian in Vladivostok and the cosmodrome Vostochny in the Amur region", - stated in the message.
The decision on the design of banknotes is accepted on the basis of the national competition, which was held in June and October last year. For participation in it have been put forward more than five thousand nominees - 1113 sights of Russian cities. As a result of the vote, which was attended by more than three million people, decided the winners - the symbols of the Far East and Sevastopol.
A significant part of cash payments in the range between the 100 and 500 rubles and 1000 and 5000 rubles, said the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina. In her opinion, the introduction of the new banknotes will simplify the calculations of citizens for goods and services.
Last time the Bank of Russia has launched a new denomination in 2009-m, when there 10-ruble coin. In 2006, the bill was launched in 5000 rubles, and in m-2001 - 1000 in rubles.
