Breakwaters secure a deadly beach in Paphos

Minister of Communications, Communications and Public Works of Cyprus Marios Dimitriadis said that before the summer season on the beach near the Venus hotel in Paphos will install breakwaters. For 10 years on this beach killed 15 people, according to Cyprus Mail.

The beach is notorious for its damping currents and high waves. The cost of the construction of breakwaters on this beach, located in the area of ​​the Royal tombs, will be 2 million euros.

The Minister also said that a survey of the entire coastal zone of the province is underway in order to identify priority locations for installing breakwaters. In addition to works on improving beaches and shorelines, the priority directions of the Ministry in the province of Paphos are also the modernization of the road network and the restoration of cultural monuments.
